Art’s close to what making music feels like for me. I’m not really chasing an end point, just trying to stay in it. I’ll start drawing an ocean and somehow end up in the hairline of a face, didn’t plan that, it just showed up. I mostly go with whatever’s in front of me in the moment.
That’s part of why, once I start something, I try not to stop. Break the thread too long, and the vision clouds , losing whatever it was that reached out and grabbed me in the first place.
I’ve never really made art on commission, a few pieces for people I knew, here and there, over the years.
Lately I’ve been drawing more, working on some prints, which are up for sale now. I want to open myself up to more of that. More of these moments. It’s how I get to put more of myself into this.
